Hello District 1 East Board, Neighborhood Leaders and Friends,

We are going to push our Board meeting out one more week to next Wednesday, June 25th. So sorry for the late notice. Our City Council is voting on the Budget tomorrow, the 18^th, so until then we still do not have our final funding amount nor a draft Grant Contract. Our funding for all of the District Coalitions is included in the proposed budget. We are hoping that that we will have the same funding as last year. There will be no extra funding for insurance or for the voter education, however we have already purchased our / your Liability, Directors and Officers and Volunteer Insurance for FY 2025/26.  The funding for this year’s budget would have been used for next year’s insurance premiums however that money is going to have come out of our base funding to cover next year for next FY. 

We are very thankful to those of you who spoke with, wrote letters and emailed our City Council.  Hopefully much of our funding is being restored. 

After tomorrow, once we have the numbers, we will be able to complete our draft budget and send it to you as soon as possible. We were hoping to have this work finished before now but the process is taking longer for the city than we had thought.  A very preliminary draft Scope of Work will be sent out with or without a draft Grant contract shortly. It will reflect the work we did for last year’s contract with updates and a few changes. 

We are looking to have the Board meeting hybrid and we are looking for a space that we can use next week on Wednesday, June 25^th.

This is the first year ever that we do not have a draft Grant Contract. We will move forward next Wednesday.

I am looking forward to seeing each of you either in person or via zoom.  We will send out a zoom link with our agenda very soon.
